To orient yourself
In the last phase of your PhD project the question arises "what to do next?". Will and can I continue my career as a researcher or do I say goodbye to academia? How do I step into the business or civil service area? In order to support young scientists with these questions, the VU University provides for a career orientation training.

Staying in research?
For PhD students who want to pursue their career as a researcher there are several possibilities. There is a special coaching for motivated and talented candidates who wish to apply for a NWO Veni grant from the Dutch Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). See the link below.
Many researchers also use NWO Rubicon to become more experienced at an excellent research institution abroad. For researchers who want to increase their chances for a successful research proposal, the VU Language Centre (Taalcentrum VU) provides for a course in Writing a grant proposal.

The MOVE network

Within MOVE you find yourself as a part of a network with many branches. First of all you are connected to numerous colleagues within all specialties, but also to other institutes and former MOVE researchers who found a job anywhere in the world.
MOVE has an excellent reputation among fellow institutes. We provide for scientific top results, and closely collaborate with other motivated researchers who dare to look across borders. A pleasant consequence of our good name within this network is that for most MOVE researchers many doors will open when they are looking out for a new environment.
That's how the quality of MOVE is ultimately to everyone's advantage.
