The symposium will take place at the Lloyd Hotel, a building by architect Evert Breman with a rich and diverse history.
Originally built as a luxury emigrant hotel by Royal Dutch Lloyd in 1920, the place was transformed into a prison in the second world war. Later it became a juvenile detention centre and in the nineties the hotel was rented out as artist studios.
In 2004 the hotel was reopened as a 1 to 5 star hotel with a Cultural Embassy and meeting facilities.
