PhD Positions

MOVE has two kinds of PhD students:

  1. PhD Students who work on a research project, financed by the University or a grant from a third party, e.g. government or industry, and are employed by one of the MOVE partners for the duration of their PhD project. (Vacancies for funded PhD studentships are posted on the institute’s website.)
  2. PhD students who bring their own research grants or other means of funding; these students are not employed by one of the MOVE partners, but are full members of the research institute, receive supervision and guidance from senior staff within MOVE and are offered the facilities necessary to complete the PhD project.
Provided the research project you want to pursue falls within the scope of MOVE, the facilities and guidance can be accommodated so that you can perform the research and finish your PhD degree within MOVE. The tuition fee (fixed) and running costs (dependent on the project) will be agreed upon and paid for each year in advance.
Should you be interested in a PhD position within MOVE, and you have your own financial support, please register and provide us with the necessary information. We will evaluate your application and get back you within a month of receiving your application.
  3. Please note that the above mentioned registration is independent of the MOVE-AGE fellowships. Should you want to apply for the MOVE-AGE fellowships, please click here.
